Applying the stain with a pump sprayer after about 4 hours we used a solution of 1 cup of baking soda and 4 gallons of water to deactivate the stain.

When acid staining concrete it s extremely important to clean the concrete very well before doing anything else. The residue is very acidic. Then i used a vacuum to remove all of the dust dirt and debris. Acid stained floors are easy to clean and rarely need more than a mop and water. The baking soda stops the acid from etching the floor.

The most common cause of sealer failure is too much stain residue on the floor. I started by scraping any dried drywall mud and paint off the floor. To remove acid stains on the floor you must act immediately and sprinkle the bicarbonate sodium on the affected area ensuring that you are protecting yourself with a sturdy pair of gloves special work trousers and goggles.
